Creative Gatherings Studio, located in a former woodworking shop in Lake of the Woods, Virginia, started because of a stopped up utility sink. The former owner had drained the sink into an underground gravel pit, and it got plugged up from accumulated debris. In the process of installing the sink correctly, the project morphed into a complete renovation of the space into a beautiful studio.
Creative Gatherings Studio began with a few friends who wanted to improve their
painting. It has morphed into a teaching studio and a gathering place to create fine art
and crafts. I hope that you will come and share in the joy of creative expression at this
studio.
Asya Baldwin has over 30 years experience as a professional artist and over 11 years experience teaching in multiple mediums. She has the unique combination of being both a world class artist as well as a committed art educator teaching beginners to advanced students in developing the skills and confidence to create art.

Alice Dudley has been involved in art in one form or another for most of her life. As a youth she accompanied her mother to ceramics classes and they later became certified ceramists. As an adult she took Sumi painting classes and has studied with several professional watercolorists since 1980. She joined the Society Decorative of Painters (SDP) and over the years had been a member of four different chapters.
Alice has worked with watercolor, watercolor batiks, acrylics, oils, water mixable oils, color pencils, and pastels. She's taught classes for the local SDP chapters for more than 20 years. She continues taking classes from other professionals, not only to stay abreast of current techniques and tools, but to continue in the learning process.
Since moving to the DMV, she has been teaching watercolor, colored pencil and ceramics for a local community college. She is currently a member of the Annapolis Watercolor Club. Besides her art, her interest extends to beading, mixed media, polymer clay, book binding, alcohol inks and other creative endeavors.
